Books by Dr. Bridgette Y. Williams

The Shepherd's Pie

The book begins with the author contemplating suicide via handgun and then proceeds to describe her journey through depression and seeming madness at a mental health and recovery facility in South Carolina. Along the way, she describes many characters who were influential in her life--both positively and negatively. The book concludes with a description of her life and practice as it now is, and with a discussion of how negative events can shape a person positively if these events are looked at with an eye toward self growth.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you’ve had doubts about your faith, READ THIS!
Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2022Let me start off by saying this: if any of you have struggled with a Church or Christians that have put a “bad taste in your mouth”, please read this! I have been there and I promise that there are good ones out there.

I absolutely loved this book! I am not much of a “reader” but I came across this and once I opened it, I couldn’t stop until there was no more to read. How Dr. Williams came up with the Title and how it fits into the story couldn’t be more perfect. She made it easy to relate to, expressed examples that God is there if you’re willing to listen, and if she was able to have her faith renewed then so can any of us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2022Dr. Williams writes an honest and inspiring story about her journey from the depths of anxiety and depression all the way around to recovery and becoming a source of hope and healing for others. I thought I'd take my time reading it, but was soon drawn in and ended up finishing the book in two days. A wonderful reminder that no matter how bad we think things are, there's always hope. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! A powerful book that let's you are not alone and you CAN overcome anything!
Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2022Dr. Williams shares with us a snapshot of a time when she was dealing with the struggles of faith, feeling alone, suicide, anxiety and the ramifications of childhood trauma and how she worked through to overcome it to come out on top. The book reads as if you are talking with an old friend, that you can relate to on every level. Honestly there were times when I was reading that I wanted to hug her and let her know "It will be okay. You've got this". She shows us that we are never alone, through dedication and perseverance we can achieve our goals, childhood trauma does impact our adult lives whether we believe it or not and the most important message, is being obedient to God. When you are called to reach out to another, no matter how small you may think the action is, you maybe saving somebody's life as Dr. Williams life was intervened by another sister in Christ. This is the greatest mission of all. Touching other's lives by showing and living Christ like. One tiny act of kindness is all it takes, like the shepherd protecting his flock. Highly recommend!!
